Ethereal Vision by Fabian Jimenez is an amalgam of his artistic evolution over the years. His early abstractions were shown on a two dimensional plane. Later his work retained those abstractions and moved into a more three dimensional visual experience for the viewer. The addition of human form, particularly faces, gave later works an out-of-body, divine entity appeal. Fabian's use of color is vibrant and guides the eye well without overwhelming other portions of the canvas.
I had the privilege of viewing this new work at his first solo show inside of Threyda's gallery. It is pleasantly kaleidoscopic, abstracted and vibrant as ever. I asked a couple what they thought of the piece and they saw a mangrove tree and the bottom orange-red area looked like toads. I told them I saw a tree in a room made of water and chameleons at the base of the tree.
Majestic artwork Fabian. :]
