WHAT IS THE ART RITUAL?

Every Friday at 12PM PST -  a new artist steps forward to offer a sacred collection — a one-time-only special release that blends contemporary art, apparel, and storytelling.

The Art Ritual is more than just a product drop. It’s a living, breathing creative ceremony. Each volume includes three pieces: a limited-edition apparel item, a fine art print, and a gallery-quality canvas — all available for just seven days. Once the week ends, the ritual is sealed, and that edition is never released again.

By participating, you're not just collecting art — you're becoming part of a growing movement. A global circle of collectors, creators, and dreamers, all united in the celebration of imagination, transformation, and expression.

This is your invitation to witness the process, connect with new artists, and bring something rare and powerful into your space.

BLAKE FOSTER

SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA

Emerging from roots in graffiti under the moniker SYDWOX, the creative rebel broadened his craft and completed a certificate program in visual FX for film with a focus in digital sculpting. Feeling unfulfilled as a mere gear in the machine, he left the digital world and returned to the streets as a stencil artist for the people.

Somewhere between painting political messages and running from the law, Foster discovered the healing power of the paintbrush, entheogens, and that deep future bass music. A newfound passion and self-love shattered limiting thought patterns and a clear vision of conscious creation was conceived.

THREE QUESTIONS

  • Your art often feels like a direct translation of nature’s intelligence — not just what it looks like, but how it feels. This was especially clear when you named your first solo show at Threyda “Organic Intelligence" Can you talk about how your relationship with the natural world influences your creative process? Do you see your work as a kind of collaboration with nature?

Once I felt the unforgettable experience of all things being connected and everything as one, I looked at nature differently. I realized that WE are nature, along with everything that arises from Mother Earth. When we commune with medicinal plants, we are infusing our biology with the intelligent chemistry of ancient beings that have existed long before us. After receiving many downloads from naturally occurring psychedelics, I began recognizing patterns in nature that could be measured by mathematical equations. This changed my perspective of nature as no longer being a random chaotic force, but an intentionally organized living representation of a higher intelligence. That profound shift influenced me to dedicate my creative practice to further understanding nature through the act of painting.

  • There’s a unique harmony in your work between the mystical and the mathematical — like a conversation between spirit and science. Is that balance intentional for you, and how do you navigate those two worlds while creating?

Before psychedelics opened my awareness to the spiritual realms, I was very much a close-minded, agnostic, who viewed the world through a proof-based, scientific lens. Similarly, I took comfort in the fact that math is a language that is precise and absolute. Rather than abandoning my formative education, I began to see how science and math could help inform my mystical experiences as well as my art. Ultimately, these formal disciplines are leading us to the same universal truths that are found within meditation, breath work, and psychedelics. I believe there is no end to the ever-unfolding mystery that is life. However, I also feel we are living in an exciting time where things like quantum physics, chaos theory, and artificial intelligence can help aid in the evolution of our consciousness as we are indeed part of the infinite fractaling multiverse perceiving itself.

  • Can you tell us a bit about the organic intelligence you are describing in Super Bloom and Gateway OG?

"Gateway OG" is a tribute painting to cannabis, the first plant medicine that revolutionized the creative abilities of my imagination and caused me to fall in love with nature. This miraculous plant has helped begin the dismantling of the war on drugs(war on consciousness) and has opened the floodgates of healing that exists within the full spectrum of plant medicines. The "Super Bloom" painting is a playful examination about the fractal nature of desert flora and the ancient native medicine contained within cacti.
